Hello friends! So my last post was June 4.....Holy Cow....that is crazy! I'm not too certain I have many readers anyway...but for the sake of the blog, I will update you on my life.

First of all......we are expecting a BABY in April! :-) That is the major event going on at the moment. I'm so excited for Baby Boy Perdok to arrive. It is all quite surreal, but becoming more real with each passing day. I know how much our lives are going to change!

Other than that, the same 'ol same 'ol! I'm teaching a new group of 5th graders, who are very excited for Christmas Break! They are a good bunch and this will be a great year to go on maternity leave, they won't suffer.... :-)

I'm also still working through my grad work. I'm done right when the baby is due, which is cause for some extreme anxiety. But God is good and I know that all will work out!

So in short, that is all that is going on here! I'll try to keep this updated more often...but we all know how that works out! :-)

Hello Blog World! My goodness has it been a LONG time since I've posted! I'm ashamed.... :-( I have for sure kept up on reading all the blogs....but updating my own is another story!

But....nothing too exciting is going on anyway. I am finally done with school, YES...PRAISE THE LORD! Not to say that this year has been bad....I just had a few kids I wanted to...um....ok....I'll be nice....I just enjoy vacation and the fact that I don't have to truly think for a few months! lol. It was a good year, the smallest class I've ever had, yet the most challenging. I hope I taught them something and they will do well next year...I'm happy to send them on!

I'm still taking classes at IWU online for grad school...which is partially why my blog hasn't been updated. I usually would get home at 5 or 6 (no...teachers don't get to leave at 3) then housework/dinner...then class stuff for a couple hours..then bed. I am so over writing papers/reading/etc...but I only have till next February...I keep telling myself....8 more months...I can do it....I'll be proud of myself in the end! :-)

The one big event that has taken place recently was my brother Aaron's wedding! He got married a couple of weekends ago to a wonderful girl, Megan. The wedding was gorgeous, outside, and super fun. I'm so happy for them as they start their life together...with a little one due in August! It'll be crazy for them, but they'll do well! Here are some pics for you to enjoy! The colors were simple, but it really complimented all the green in the park.

Well, I will try and keep this updated better this summer....with pics (b/c those are what I like to see the most). Hope all is well for everyone out there and Happy Summer!

I am a HORRIBLE blogger...oh my. I have been reading other people's blogs like crazy latley and I need to get with the program! I have loved reading some new blogs I found from some amazing women who I have never, and probably will never, meet! If you'd like to join in the ones I love so far are Bring the Rain and Kelly's Korner...they are great Godly women with great stories...read on.

Anyway, life has been good at the Perdoks. Christmas was great...2 weeks in MI with the fam!

I'm still doing classes and teaching....staying busy!

Halloween Festivities

Halloween was great! Yes I know it was over a week ago but I now am getting around to posting about it! Anyway, we got together with one of my students from last year and her family. Her name is Rachel and she has a dog named Samson. All last year her dog Samson and Sophie were labled boyfriend and girlfriend. Samson bought Sophie all sorts of gifts. So this summer Samson turned 1 and had a birthday party and Sophie and I were invited! It was so fun! So of course Sam and Soph had to dress up and spend Halloween together! Sam was a prince and Soph was a princess/ballerina.. :-) Andy and I went around Rachel's neighborhood with Soph and Sam and a bunch of other kids and believe it or not Soph was so good and got TONS of treats! Even a pig ear!!! Enjoy these pics of our good time!

Whew...this last week or so has been a whirlwind! I can't believe how life just goes 90 miles an hour sometimes and I can hardly catch my breath! It's all just work, home, and life..go go go....

School has been nuts latley...today espically. We just have tons of stuff going on, events I'm planning/working on and on and on and on..... I have to say I enjoy the craziness....sometimes. And since I'm taking my masters classess too...I find that when I finally get home from school at 6 or 6:30 (no..teachers' days do not end at 3:00) I'm working on my masters class stuff for a couple hours... and then it's bed time and I do it all over again!

Andrew got home from phesant hunting yesterday. He had tons of fun and loved it as usual. He wants to take Sophie hunting next year. Ummm...I don't think so if I have anything to say about it. She is not a hunting dog... she is one who sleeps on the couch and is treated like quite the princess! :-) While Andy was gone her and I had some girl time..lol. Well I did anyway..watched some girly movies, slept in...it was kind of nice. :-) But I'm glad he's back too.

That's all that has been going on here. We are going to MI this weekend for a family reunion and Andy's birthday. The craziness continues!......

Fall Break...Yes!!!

Tomorrow is my last day of school for the week and I can't tell you how excited I am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the last week I have been so angry at everyone I've wanted to bite people's head off...so Fall break is in order! I'm not doing much over break....probably cleaning, working on Masters classes stuff, hanging out with the hubby, shopping...whatever as long as I don't have to work! I really do love my job...but kids all day is wreaking my brain!!

Anyway...on to another topic. Andy leaves on Friday for his annual pheasant hunting trip with my dad. They go to South Dakota every year and let me tell you I can feel the excitement in the air! Andy sarted to pack on Sunday and he isn' t leaving till Friday! I don't know why walking in a field and shooting birds...that don't even taste very good...is exciting...but whatever. He gets back Tuesday...so nothing new...it's Sophie and I again.

The first weekend of fall...

Well as for the first weekend of fall...we didn't do much..bummer. Oh well...it was nice to get some stuff done around the house. I would've loved to go apple picking...like everyone else is that I'm reading about...but someone (aka...the husband) was not up for it. He says we're in saving money mode...whatever. So anyway...Friday night he did take me out to Chinese..which was yummy. Then Saturday we did a bunch around the house..cleaning etc...then we had our neighbor over for dinner. She is 70 and a widow..so we usually have her over for dinner about once a month. Exciting...I know...but she needs some socialization...and I kinda feel bad for her, so we visit her frequently and hang out...she is quite the chatter box and has some great stories...so it's fun.

Then today we went to church and it was a great sermon. He was talking about small groups and how to be involved (which we are not...but I'd like to be). And it was just a good reminder that you need friends in your life. Now that I've been living here for about 3 years...I actually feel like I do have friends here...which is a great feeling. I finally feel connected. Now I'm starting to worry that when we move home..even though it is home...I don't really have many friends...so to tell ya the truth I'm kinda nervous about that. We have tons of family to hang out with but sometimes you need friends. I don't know...it's just something I've been thinking about lately.

We took our last corvette ride today too. The corvette is going up to MI this weekend to live for the winter. I'm kinda sad cuz Andy and I love to go for rides on these cool fall days. But he wants to store it in MI for the winter...which does mean I get a garage spot for the winter. YES!!! No more scraping....ahhh...gotta give some to get some I guess...he he...

Ok..well that was about it for our weekend...nothing too exciting. Andy leaves tomorrow and I won't see him for over a week... :-( He'll be in Chicago till Thurs. Then I leave for a conference Thurs. Then he leaves for MI on Fri. till Tues...and I return here on Friday....we'll cross paths on the road somewhere...oh the life...

Crazy times....

Hello all...I thought I would update a bit since it's been a while. A lot has been going on in our lives the past few weeks. Andy has been traveling a ton...which leaves me and Sophie together...at least 2-3 nights a week..yipee.... School has been crazy as well...we have just finished ISTEP week...gearing up for a huge fundraiser...field trip on Friday...amongst all the other lesson planning etc...ahhh!!!!
We traveled to MI last weekend too..partly because we hadn't been there in a while..but mostly because our good friend Ryan was in a horrible accident and we rushed up on Thurs. to be with him and his family. He's made progress but still in a coma and other issues to sort out. It will be a long road for him and his family. It has taught us all to continue to have faith and the power of prayer. It's a miracle he's alive....
Andy is around this week (surprisingly) and we have a Realtor coming to our house tonight to give us an assessment of what we need to do before we sell. I am sure hoping we can be out next summer.....I love it here..but family means more..and I feel like I'm missing out on so much! We'll see what God has in store....
I start my Masters classes this week to...eeeekkkk...

End of Summer Fun

Here are some pictures from Vegas. We had a great time...I can almost stand the heat better there with out all the humidity rather than a humid day here. There was so much to see in 4 days...espically with Andy working the majority of the time. But we still had fun!

For Labor Day the Perdok's came down to visit. Mom Perdok came down the Wednesday before to help us paint the inside of the house. She was so great and got the Kitchen/Living area painted for me in two days! Friday the rest of the clan came down. Saturday we went shopping and Sunday we ventured to Blue Spring Caverns. Ben wanted to see a cave...so this was the best we could find. It was fun and we got to see bats and take a boat ride in the cave....worth the 1.5 hour drive.

There it is for end of summer fun....can't believe it's over already!

All fixed up

Well all Andrew has survived his knee surgery....for the most part. The surgery was on Wed. and he was in and out and we were on our way home with in like 3 hours. However when we got home he was quite tired and slept pretty much the rest of the day. Nausea hit though about 8 p.m. and that was ugly. Went to bed about 10 and I had to get up and teach the next day. I made it through school until about 10 am, then I get a sad call from the patient...."I'm so sick....." so the good wife in me took the rest of the day off and went home to tend to the patient. Turns out the anesthesia made him very sick...so the doc called in a prescription for that and once he had that he was back to his good 'ol self. Today I also took a 1/2 day to be with the patient. (I think he just likes me here....) So hopefully by Monday he'll be pretty self sufficient again and we'll have a normal next week. Thanks for all your prayers and sorry I haven't updated in a while...once school started (Aug 13) it was pretty much insane until now.

Knee worries~

Well we found out today that indeed Andrew does have to have knee surgery. He actually had the option of doing it or not..as it is something that isn't an emergency, but a big pain for him. The swelling and pain comes and goes and if he has the surgery then it will be over and done with. So we have scheduled it for early in September and the recovery time should only be like two weeks. So once that is done I think he will feel much better about it...it sure will cost a pretty penny for us though. Yes we do have insurance..but it kind of sucks. Plus I am hoping (cross your fingers) to start my Masters in the fall. It will be completley online and only take about a year and a half...but I told my self that I need to do it now..before kids..and while I have a small class at school. I am really hoping and praying that everything ($$$) goes through and I'll be able to do it.

Parents are coming down this weekend, Dad, Aaron, and Andrew are going to the race on Sunday...us girls are going shopping. It should be fun! Always something to do!!!

After reading through some of our friends Blogs...I thought how nice it is to keep up with people and see their lives, even if you don't ever see them in person! So I've created Perdok Place, a chance for those to get a glimpse into our lives and hopefully enjoy reading. I can't guarantee how often the posts will occur, but I will try my best.

Let me catch you up on our life as of now...

We currently live in Southern Indiana (Columbus to be exact) and have been together here for 2 years. Andrew has lived here almost 5 years. We bought our house three years ago and just love it to bits! It's not a place where I see raising a family or really expanding, but it is perfect for us right now! We don't have kids yet, just our dog Sophie. She is a 1 1/2 year old Bloodhound and we love her to pieces! Aside from the drool and hair...she's a joy! I teach 5th grade at Columbus Christian School and I'm going on my 3rd year. Andrew is a TSM (don't ask me what it stands for) at Cummins and he loves it! He travels a lot which he likes...me..not so much. All in all our life is pretty easy going and we are loving life together!
